So much to see in this mosaic. A full story encapsulated – The bestowal of wedding gifts, from the ‘House of the Nymphs, with a composition inspired by Chryses pleeding with Agamemnon for the release of his daughter (in the Iliad) or Priam at the feet of Achilles trying to recover the body of Hector (according to Yacoub, M. The Splendours of Tunisian Mosaics, 2007).
For a better view you’ll need to visit the museum (as I’ve no photoshop to take out the reflection from the lights).
